Methodist Health System Earns A's for Patient Safety

Methodist Dallas, Methodist Mansfield, and Methodist Richardson Take Top Honors in Leapfrog Fall 2020 Survey

Methodist Dallas, Methodist Mansfield, and Methodist Richardson are all proud to announce they have once again received the highest rating possible by the independent hospital watchdog, The Leapfrog Group. The Hospital Safety Score is the gold standard rating for patient safety, compiled under the guidance of the nation’s leading patient safety experts and administered by The Leapfrog Group, a national, independent nonprofit organization committed to driving quality, safety, and transparency in the U.S. health system.

"Everything we do at Methodist begins with our commitment to patient safety," says Pam Stoyanoff, FACHE, President and Chief Operating Officer, Methodist Health System. "These high scores are a powerful reminder of our mission to saving and improving lives. We’re proud to serve our communities and be recognized as a healthcare leader.”

Methodist Charlton Medical Center also earned the high safety score of B.

Developed under the guidance of an Expert Panel, the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses 28 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign grades to approximately 2,600 U.S. hospitals twice per year. It is peer reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public.
