Procedure Information

Prior to Your Procedure

At Methodist Southlake Hospital, two appointments will be set to help prepare you for your procedure: a pre-admission consultation and the procedure itself. Ideally, these two appointments are set several days apart to allow for any additional consultation or testing that may be required.

Pre-admission Consultation

Your pre-admission consultation allows our team the opportunity to gather important information about your medical and surgical history. Our goal is to provide a safe and comfortable procedure, reduce possible complications and eliminate the need for readmission.

Admission

Our admitting clerk will provide you with any admission paperwork needing completion. Please bring your:

  • Driver’s license or government-issued photo identification
  • Insurance ID card(s)
  • All your medications in their original bottles*

If you did not pre-admit, please also bring:

  • Method of payment
  • Complete list of current medications, including vitamins and herbal products

Once Admitted

You will be escorted to our pre-op area. Friends and family may wait in the surgical waiting area and will have the opportunity to visit with you before your procedure.

*Hospital caregivers are required to reconcile your daily medications ordered by physicians outside of the hospital.
