PGY2 Dallas Critical Care Residency

A Word From Director Tamara Reiter

Thank you for your interest in the PGY2 critical care pharmacy residency program at Methodist Dallas Medical Center (MDMC). MDMC is one the largest and longest-standing hospitals in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.

As a pharmacy resident at Methodist Dallas Medical Center, you will be a member of a department that prioritizes patient care. Our dedicated staff has an excellent rapport with physician, nursing, and other interdisciplinary team members and is highly committed to providing quality, evidence-based medication-related care for our patients. The purpose of our program is to build upon Doctor of Pharmacy and PGY1 education and training to produce clinical pharmacy specialists capable of providing advanced level care to critically ill adult patients and eligible to sit for board certification in critical care.

Our unique size and organizational structure make MDMC an ideal learning environment for pharmacy residents. Our 585 bed community teaching hospital offers specialized critical care services in three adult ICUs (medicine, surgery/trauma, and neurology) and provides comprehensive emergency services as a Level I Trauma center. Our residents are also given ample teaching opportunities through our affiliations with several colleges of pharmacy and our own PGY1 residency program.

We are excited to learn more about your interest in joining our team. After exploring our site, if you have any additional questions, or if you would like to arrange a tour of our facilities, please contact us.

Sincerely,

Tamara Reiter, Pharm.D., BCCCP
PGY2 Critical Care Residency Program Director
