Do you know your numbers? I’m not talking about how much you have in the bank, or how much you owe on your mortgage. I’m talking about the numbers that are the important indicators of your health.

You may be thinking: I feel fine. But, you could be at risk with silent symptoms of something serious. I don’t want to scare you. Even if your numbers aren’t where they need to be, just knowing them puts you in a better position to do something about it, before it becomes an issue.

Mad Hatter Event Celebrates Breast Cancer Fighters, 3D Mammography

Did you know one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer?  That’s a pretty scary statistic, especially for me, because I have a family history.  My maternal grandmother died of breast cancer when my Mom was just 10.  I wish I could have known my grandmother.  From the way my Mom has described her, it sounds like we would have had a lot in common.  I’m hoping breast cancer is not one of them.  That’s why when I heard about 3D mammography, I thought this is truly a break through and the next time I have my mammogram, I will definitely ask for 3D.

First Methodist Urgent Care Grand Opening

This is an exciting season of new beginnings at Methodist Health System. Last Saturday marked the grand opening of Methodist Health System’s first Urgent Care! Several hundred members of the community, physicians, and staff all joined together at the new facility to celebrate with free food and family fun. Methodist Richardson Medical Center President Ken Hutchenrider Jr, FACHE, helped cut the ceremonial ribbon, and noted that the Urgent Care will provide a valuable service in the area. "Methodist Urgent Care represents our continued investment in the Richardson community and furthers our commitment to provide compassionate and quality care", said Hutchenrider.
